Greedy (1994)

Comedy

Meet the McTeagues. They’ve come to stake a claim on their wealthy uncle’s will… only he’s not dead yet! As his family tries to get rich the old fashioned way – grovelling – Uncle Joe watches them elevate back-stabbing and brown nosing to a whole new level.

MG – “From the creators of Parenthood and City Slickers, in golden times of some classic comedies, before the unfortunate need for vulgar and crass humour of today’s comedy flicks to get cheap laughs, comes this film, Greedy. With talents such as Michael J. Fox as Daniel, in his acting prime, Kirk Douglas as Uncle Joe, Nancy Travis as Robin, along with funny family members like Phil Hartman (who also did voices in The Simpsons such as Troy McClure).

For me this was one of those laugh out loud comedy’s with some great plot twists and basically a classic fun family comedy. You’ll be guessing to the end too adding to the fun ride. Comedy like this is great to see, showing the lighter side of humour, without ever feeling the need for shock value. The way comedy is going these days paints a grim future of no-brainers, dim-wits and nini’s.”
